SQL Server 2008 VAA

in Databases
Overview
Description:

Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database server, developed by Microsoft that's designed for the enterprise environment. It is a software product whose primary function is to store and retrieve data as requested by other software applications, be it those on the same computer or those running on another computer across a network (including the Internet). SQL Server runs on T-SQL (Transact -SQL), a set of programming extensions from Sybase and Microsoft that add several features to standard SQL

Execution:

Follow the detailed how to document for instructions on how to create, move and deploy the VAA to a new target system.
At a high level, once the VAA has been created, the steps are:

  • appzstart c:\appliances\SQLserver2008r2_x64
  • appzrun c:\appliances\SQLserver2008r2_x64 c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe

The last command will start a windows command prompt that you can use to call the SQLCMD.exe utility and enter Transact-SQL statements, system procedures, and script files
